From 15 December 2024 till 3 January 2025, the best darts players from around the world meet at the Alexandra Palace to battle for the first prize of the new year. The event: get ready for darts history!

Held at the Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally, affectionately) since 2008, the World Darts Championship is the most prestigious tournament organized by the Professional Darts Corporation. This yearly competitive darts get-together is part of the Triple Crown in the sport, along with the Premier League Darts and World Matchplay. The prize pool for this event is the biggest in darts, so prepare yourself for 3 weeks of darts madness!

The contenders: Luke vs Luke (vs Mike?)

Most likely to win: Luke Littler

Last year, the final was a battle of the Lukes, when Englishman Luke Humphries famously bested his younger compatriot, Luke Littler. We can expect the title fight to be between these two once more, with a slight edge for Littler this time around. Of course, there are plenty of matches to follow before the final, too. For Belgium, keep your eyes on Mike De Decker: he’s tipped for a strong run in the event. Dimitri Van den Bergh is a bold outsider choice.
