19 November 2024
On 24 November, it’s “welcome to fabulous Las Vegas” for the Formula 1 circus! The 2024 edition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix could be history in the making, as there’s a very real chance that Max Verstappen can clinch a fourth consecutive championship title. The race has to be run first, of course… Here’s our preview of this spectacular F1 event!
Most likely to win: Lando Norris
The Las Vegas Grand Prix is the third-to-last race of the F1 season, so the top of the ranking can safely start looking to secure their position. At the moment, Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) is leading with 393 points. His closest competitor, Lando Norris (McLaren) has 331 points: enough to make the last 3 GPs a nailbiter, if all goes well for him. It’s worth noting that Verstappen doesn’t need a victory to win the 2024 F1 title: the proverbial ball’s in Norris’s court!
Most likely to win: Ferrari
As dominant as Verstappen has been, his constructor team Red Bull Racing is stuck in third place in the constructor standings. At the moment, McLaren is in the lead, followed by Ferrari. The Las Vegas Grand Prix 2024 is set to be a three-way battle, but with McLaren and Red Bull Racing taking all the risks to outpace each other, it could very well be Ferrari that hits the Las Vegas jackpot in the constructor standings.
Built just in time for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023, the Las Vegas Strip Circuit is the youngest and perhaps most eccentric Formula 1 track in the world. 6.201 km in length, it features 17 corners, a 1.9 km straight on which a top speed of 350 km/h has been recorded, and of course grandiose night-time sights of the hottest Las Vegas landmarks. Whether Verstappen takes the crown here or not: the Las Vegas Strip Circuit is ready for a spectacular night!
