He did it: Max Verstappen nabbed his fourth Formula 1 title in as many F1 seasons, with 2 events to go. Up next: the Qatar GP. There may be nothing but honor at stake for Verstappen at the Lusail International Circuit, but that doesn’t mean there’s no excitement to look forward to! Here’s our preview of the upcoming event, along with some predictions.
Most likely to win: Lando Norris
Verstappen has already won the season: everything else is just a little extra. Rest assured that he’ll want to prove himself worthy of his brand new title, though! Last year, Verstappen won from pole position in Qatar. This year, he’s had fierce competition. Lando Norris, especially, has been a strong contender. If anyone has what it takes to Verstappen, it should be Norris.
Most likely to win: McLaren
Verstappen may have clinched the driver’s title, but as far as the title for 2024 constructor goes, it’s all still up in the air. McLaren is leading and indeed has the best papers here, but Ferrari is just 24 points behind: enough to keep matters exciting. Red Bull is trailing 53 points on McLaren and 29 on Ferrari. It’s safe to say that McLaren to win is a reasonable prediction here.
As the sun sets on the desert sights of Qatar, the floodlights pop on at the Lusail International Circuit: it’s about to go down! This 5.419 km track has 16 turns and a straight part of over 1 km to make sure that those with a need for speed get what they crave. Drivers will complete 57 laps for a total of 308.611 km as night falls over Qatar. This GP F1 event truly is a sight to behold!
